Adam currently operates a family farming operation along with his father. The farm has a commercial cow calf operation, along with producing hay crops for the farm’s cattle and for sale.
Adam graduated from North Carolina State University’s Agricultural Institute with degrees in Agribusiness Management, General Agriculture, and Field Crops Technology. After graduation, Adam came back to farm full time raising flue cured tobacco, small grains, and beef cattle. In addition, Adam started working part time in the crop insurance industry as a Crop Loss Adjuster. In 2005, the farm discontinued tobacco and Adam became more involved in crop insurance. In 2007, Adam took a position as a Marketing Representative. In 2011, he took a position as a Regional Marketing Manager. In 2015, he made the shift and started his own Crop Insurance Agency – Hilton Ag, LLC. This has allowed him more time at home and more time to focus on and grow his farming operation.
In 2004, Adam was recognized as the Outstanding Conservation Farmer for Davidson County, Area 8, and the Mountain Region of NC. Adam has been involved with wildlife and agricultural organizations and currently serves as a board member of the Davidson County Farm Bureau and North Carolina Cattlemen’s Association. Additionally, he is the current Vice President of the Davidson County Cattlemen’s Association.
Adam enjoys the peace and solidarity of the outdoors and especially enjoys hunting, kayaking, and fishing.
