Strong attendance was a highlight of North Carolina Farm Bureau's (NCFB) 2008 Women's Conference. This year's theme: "Growing Stronger, Reaching Higher," drew more than 120-women from across the state.
Workshops focused on a host of topics ranging from legislative and policy issues to women's health, a national Ag in the Classroom initiative focused on USDA's Food Guide Pyramid to alternative energy, along with retirement planning and a how-to on photographing county events.
The conference wrapped up with an inspirational talk by breast cancer survivor Andrea Lohr, who talked about the life lessons she has learned since being diagnosed in 2006. Andrea told her audience that she's gained a new and exciting perspective on life, one that has shown her there is a power in believing in yourself and those around you.
The Women's Conference was held at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley, April 3-4.
